Uzbekistan plans to introduce the e-Freight platform for electronic registration of cargo transportation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A seminar was held in Tashkent, organized by the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan with the participation of Uzbekistan Airports JSC, on the introduction of an information platform for electronic registration of cargo transportation e-Freight and implementation of control and supervisory functions in a “single window” using electronic documents.
Uzbekistan is preparing for the transition to electronic document management in terms of cargo transportation. A seminar for representatives of a number of ministries and departments with the participation of international experts was the first step of the roadmap in the implementation of this process.
“Hundreds of tons of various cargoes are delivered to the country every day. Along with the cargo, tons of documentation are also received. On average, there are about 20 different permits for one product. The transition to electronic document management will not only save millions of trees, but also simplify the process of delivering goods and make the procedure as transparent as possible. e-Freight is an international standard recommended by IATA and accepted in many countries around the world. The introduction of the platform in Uzbekistan will significantly increase the competitiveness and attractiveness of our airports for foreign logistics and airlines,” said Rano Juraeva, Chairman of the Board of Uzbekistan Airports JSC.
Within the framework of the seminar, experts spoke about the international experience and results of the implementation of the e-Freight standard, the requirements for changing the technology for exercising control and supervisory functions at state border checkpoints, as well as the practice of issuing and maintaining electronic documents for air transportation.
