Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekiston Temir Yollari is actively working to expand transport and logistics cooperation with sea and dry ports, shipping, as well as transport and logistics companies that have terminals in ports.
Now, cargo owners and clients of Uzbekiston Temir Yollari will have the opportunity to directly familiarize themselves with the list of services, price list of ports, shipping and logistics companies in the "Partners" section on the official website of Uzbekistan Temir Yollari, which will allow cargo owners to form the most efficient routes for transportation and optimize transportation costs.
The importance of this cooperation is due to the advantage of sea transportation in the global volume of cargo transportation, as well as to the peculiarities of the geographical location of Uzbekistan - the distance from the outlet to the World Ocean by the territories of at least two states.
In August of this year, following the results of working visits and business negotiations, Memorandums of Understanding and Cooperation were signed between Uzbekiston Temir Yollari and the Caspian Sea ports of Aktau and Kuryk, as well as with the dry port of Khorgos.
In September this year, a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation was signed with the Russian logistics company RUSCON, which is a multimodal operator of transport and logistics services of Delo Group with its own terminals in the seaports of Novorossiysk, St. Petersburg and Nakhodka.
At the same time, on 5 October 2021, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a resolution on Uzbekistan’s accession to the Intergovernmental Agreement on "dry ports" (allows to simplify the procedure for transporting goods by sea) of the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP).
At present, Uzbekiston Temir Yollari has intensified work to expand cooperation with other ports of the Caspian Sea, in connection with which the delegation of the Uzbek railways will take part in the 2nd International Conference "Caspian ports and shipping 2021" on 19-21 October 2021 in Aktau (Republic of Kazakhstan). Also Uzbekiston Temir Yollari expresses high interest and desire for mutual cooperation with the ports of the Black, Mediterranean, Baltic Seas, as well as the ports of South and Southeast Asia.
