Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Musicians, signers and bands from more than 60 countries have expressed wish to participate in the seventh international festival Sharq Taronalari, to be held in August in Samarkand.

Held since 1997 on the initiative of the President, the Oriental Melodies festival has reached wide popularity around the world, UzA reported.

The forum plays an important role in popularization of the Uzbek musical art and familiarization of the Uzbek people with the world music. It also serves to strengthening friendship among the nations.

All songs and music will be presented live at the famous Registan Square. For the first time, representatives of Mexico and Costa Rica will perform this year, journalists were told at the press conference in the ancient city.
