Festivals, awards, badges: how Uzbekistan will encourage cinematographers
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- By the Decree of the President of Uzbekistan "On measures to raise the cinematography and the film industry to a qualitatively new level and to further improve the system of state support for the industry", measures to stimulate and encourage filmmakers are determined.
Thus, the document approved the holding of the Tashkent International Film Festival "The Pearl of the Silk Road" on a regular basis. It will be held in the republic annually, starting in 2021. Also, on a traditional basis, the best filmmakers of the country will be awarded the national film award "Oltin Humo". In order to support students of higher educational institutions studying in the direction of "Cinematography", the Decree establishes the State Scholarship named after Khudoybergan Devonov.
To encourage creative workers and specialists who conduct effective activities in the field of national cinematography, the “Fidokori Cinematography” badge has been established.
In addition, the Decree stipulates a systematic continuation of reforms aimed at developing the national cinema, improving the system of state support for this area, introducing effective mechanisms for film production in the country based on world experience, as well as creating a modern infrastructure for the film industry and developing a film distribution system in the country.
