Targeted support for investors is among the main priorities

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 23 February, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov held a meeting with the director of Indorama (Singapore) Prakash Kejrival.
During the meeting, the progress of the projects of the Singaporean investor in Uzbekistan was discussed, referring to the spinning production in Qoqand, the project to create cotton-textile clusters in Kashkadarya, Syrdarya and Ferghana regions with a total area of about 100 thousand hectares, as well as a project to modernize the Qoqand superphosphate plant. In particular, they discussed issues related to interaction with farms, connecting production facilities to utilities and conducting field work this year.
The foreign investor voiced intentions to expand the technical base of the facilities being created by building a logistics center and a machine and tractor park in Kasby district of Kashkadarya region, as well as creating a new cotton processing plant in Sardoba district of Syrdarya region.
The parties discussed the format of interaction within the framework of the implementation of these initiatives, and also worked out specific algorithms for solving existing practical issues.
Following the meeting, the management of the company was assured of the commitment of the Uzbek side to comprehensive support for projects and initiatives implemented by the Singaporean investor in the Republic.
