Wholesale and retail prices for petroleum products to rise due to the increase in the excise rate

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In accordance with the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan from 30 December 2020 “On amendments and additions to some legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the adoption of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On the State Budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2021” from 1 February 2021, amendments and additions are made to the following rates of excise tax on oil products and goods sold to the end consumer:
Excise tax rates for petroleum products:
- 1 ton of AI-80 gasoline: actually - 200,000 soums, from February 1 - 240,000 soums (change by 40,000 soums or 20%);
- 1 ton of Ai-90 and higher gasoline: actually - 250,000 soums, from February 1 - 275,000 soums (change by 25,000 soums or 10%);
- 1 ton of diesel fuel: actually - 200,000 soums, from February 1 - 240,000 soums (change by 40,000 soums or 20%);
- 1 ton of ECO diesel fuel: actually - 180,000 soums, from February 1 - 216,000 soums (change by 36,000 soums or 20%).
Excise tax rates for goods sold to the end consumer:
- 1 ton of gasoline: actually - 378 480 soums, from February 1 - 465 530 soums (change by 87,050 soums or 23%);
- 1 ton of diesel fuel: actually - 346,275 soums, from February 1 - 425,918 soums (change by 79,643 soums or 23%).
Considering the above changes on the example of AI-80 gasoline, existing taxes and other mandatory payments included in the average price may affect the retail price on average up to 110 soums (including VAT).
