Uzbekistan rises by 7 positions in the Corruption Perceptions Index
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan improved its position by 7 points in the Corruption Perceptions Index announced by the non-governmental international organization Transparency International.
It should be noted the positive dynamics of Uzbekistan: if in 2012 the country took 170th place with 17 points, then in 2020 it climbed to 146th place, gaining 26 points.
Positive shifts have become possible thanks to the strengthening in recent years of both the legal and institutional framework for combating corruption. This serious problem is in the center of attention of the state and society, and an irreconcilable attitude towards corruption is being formed.
The growing openness of state bodies in the fight against corruption, their willingness to discuss issues of concern to citizens, as well as trends towards joint search and development of solutions correspond to the essence of the Corruption Perceptions Index.
