Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - A mechanism has been established for the entry of migrants from Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Turkey to work on construction sites in Russia, Dunyo news agency reported.

As TASS reports today, Minister of Construction and Housing and Utilities Irek Fayzullin said this at a meeting with the business community at the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

“The Commission has been created for Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkey. We have established this procedure (import of foreign labor force into Russia - TASS note) in manual control,” the minister’s agency quotes.

According to the minister, representatives of large construction companies or heads of regions can apply to the Ministry of Construction with a request to import migrants to Russia. Today, about three weeks pass between contacting the department and agreeing on all stages of this procedure. Irek Fayzullin also added that after the opening of the borders, it will be possible to envisage a new mechanism for the entry of foreign workers into Russia.

According to the agency, 1.5 million migrants who worked at construction sites did not return to Russia last year due to the pandemic.
