The Law "On Cultural Activities and Cultural Organizations" was approved

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At the eleventh plenary session of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On cultural activities and cultural organizations" was discussed.

It was noted that this Law was preliminary considered by the Senate Committee on Youth, Culture and Sports with the participation of qualified experts, and a positive conclusion was given.

Until today, legal relations in the field of cultural activities were regulated by the laws "On the export and import of cultural property", "On museums", "On the protection and use of cultural heritage sites", a number of decrees and resolutions of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as many other bylaws.

The lack of a unified legal framework aimed at regulating relations in the field of culture, the legal status of cultural and art institutions, creative associations and associations, social protection of creative workers, was the reason for various kinds of comments. The Law "On Cultural Activities and Cultural Organizations" serves to fill the legal gap in this area.

The law covers a number of issues such as defining the goal and main priority areas of state policy in the field of culture, defining the participants in legal relations in this area and their powers, securing the legal status of talented people and cultural institutions, improving the relationship and interaction of cultural organizations with public authorities, local governments and other organizations, increasing the competitiveness of cultural industries and others.

The Cabinet of Ministers, the Ministry of Culture, the Agency for Information and Mass Communications under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Uzbekkino National Agency, as well as local government bodies are indicated as bodies implementing state policy in the field of cultural activities.

The adoption of the Law will increase the efficiency of legal regulation of relations in the field of culture and ensure the implementation of international legal norms in national legislation.

Along with improving the image of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the world arena, the Law will also have a positive impact on the further development and strengthening of cultural ties between peoples and regions.
