Institute for Tourism Development and Sochi State University sign memorandum

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Institute for Tourism Development under the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Tourism Development signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education “Sochi State University” (Russian Federation).

The memorandum will contribute to the further development of cooperation between the two scientific and educational institutions, to promote joint research in the field of tourism and hospitality, the exchange of academic publications, the holding of scientific and educational conferences and seminars, the regular exchange of students and teachers, in particular, special emphasis will be placed on development of educational and methodological programs for vocational education for the tourism and service sectors.

Currently, active work is underway to develop a "Roadmap" for the phased implementation of various events related to the integration of advanced Russian educational programs and methods, identifying participants in seminars and conferences (including online), sharing knowledge and experience until the end of 2021 of the year.

It should be noted that it is also planned to conduct joint online seminars and trainings for teachers and masters of vocational education of colleges / technical schools of tourism and service, as well as the entrepreneurial business environment of the tourism industry of Uzbekistan, with the participation of leading scientists and experts of the Russian Federation in this area.

Sochi State University is the main university of the Russian Federation for training personnel for the tourism industry. Over the 30 years of its activity, SSU has trained more than 36 thousand highly qualified specialists in basic educational programs, many of whom play a key role in tourism, recreation and other areas of activity.

The university has 5 faculties (tourism and service, economics and management processes, environmental engineering, socio-pedagogical, legal), university economic and technological college. The total number of students in programs of higher and secondary vocational education in all forms of education (taking into account the branch in the city of Anapa) is about 7000 people, of which 3577 people study under bachelor's programs, 914 people study for master's programs, 106 people for postgraduate studies, in specialties of secondary vocational education - more than 2000 people.

Since 2018, a practice-oriented multilingual double degree program has been implemented with the French Institute of Hospitality "VATEL" (world leader in the hotel and restaurant business, winner of the world hospitality award "Best School of Hotel Business").

In 2017-2018, on the basis of SSU, a new regional educational platform has been created for training mid-level specialists and bachelors with WorldSkills Russia competencies.
