Cooperation with the University of Tsukuba expands

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- During a working trip to Tsukubu, negotiations were held between the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Japan with the leadership of the University of Tsukuba: the president of the university, the president of the Japanese Association of National Universities Kyosuke Nagata, vice president, executive director for global relations Karolin Benton, as well as a number of professors and staff of the International Department.
The current state and prospects of cooperation between the Japanese university and the republic’s scientific and educational institutions were discussed, the embassy of Uzbekistan in Tokyo reports.
K. Nagata expressed interest in expanding cooperation with Uzbek organizations. According to him, at present, the University of Tsukuba, represented by Professor Masaaki Ono, is negotiating with the El-Yurt Umidi Foundation regarding the signing of a memorandum of cooperation.
The document envisages the provision of grants to Uzbek scientists and researchers, the organization of trainings, seminars, conferences, as well as joint research in the humanities and seismology.
The University of Tsukuba is also positively disposed to cooperate with the International Institute for Central Asian Studies (IICAI), with which it intends to hold conferences and symposia, carry out academic exchanges, joint scientific projects and publications.
An agreement was reached to speed up the process of signing an agreement between the Japanese university and El-Yurt Umidi, as well as to initiate the process of discussing specific areas and formats of interaction with IICAI.
