Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- This morning, on 24 November, a passenger bus of route number 116 caught fire on the Tashkent small ring road. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Emergencies of Uzbekistan.
The ministry notes that the bus fire occurred at 06:13 am on 24 November, at the moment when the driver of the regular bus number 116 left the fleet towards the terminal station in order to pick up the first passengers.
Fire and rescue teams of the Tashkent Emergency Management Department arrived at the scene after 4 minutes. At 06:26 the fire was localized, and at 06:39 it was completely extinguished.
According to the preliminary version, a short circuit in the engine compartment became the cause of the bus ignition. No one was hurt as a result of this incident. Before the fire started, the bus driver managed to get out of the passenger compartment in time.
