Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A merger of Uzbekistan’s Tashkent Aircraft Association with Russia’s United Aircraft Corporation will be considered no earlier than in 2011, UAC President Alexei Fyodorov told reporters on Monday.
He noted that Uzbekistan’s government came up with the initiative, Itar-Tass reported.
“The Uzbek government addressed us with a request to postpone the consideration of the Tashkent Aircraft Association’s merger with the UAC until 2011,” he said.
Taking this into account the Russian corporation corrects its production plans, including those on the manufacturing of turboprop aircraft, Fyodorov said
The Tashkent Aircraft Association builds Il-114 regional turboprop jets.
