Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Medical services can and should be more mobile, it was said at a meeting between the National Chamber of Innovative Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Italian company Opera.
The Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Italy Otabek Akbarov took part in the negotiations online. He emphasized that for almost two years the Embassy has been actively cooperating with the Italian company Opera on three investment projects, incl. in health care.
As the chairman of the National Chamber Rovshan Izamov noted, this state structure is interested in cooperation with the "Opera", taking into account the fact that the introduction of the best foreign experience and healthcare models are the tasks of the National Chamber. R. Izamov also expressed gratitude to the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Rome for assistance in initiating new promising projects with the Italian side.
The parties discussed the possibilities and specific areas of cooperation on the project for the construction of the Endocrinological Center for Italian Technologies in Namangan. One of the innovations in it is the creation of mobile teams for endocrinological examination "on demand" - that is, where there is a need for this.
“The pandemic has fundamentally changed our attitude to what medicine should be. Today, the main task is to provide effective assistance to the patient through mobile equipment and not necessarily in the hospital,” said Paolo De Angelis, President of Opera, said his point of view.
During the negotiations, the sides discussed such project stages as the creation of a leading Endocrinological Center with modern operating rooms, all conditions for patients, as well as family members arriving with them, for which it is planned to build a hotel. The next area is mobile teams, as well as a network of specialized endocrinological polyclinics throughout the country. Opera has held negotiations with the famous Italian company Fora, which has extensive experience in this area.
The importance of introducing the best international experience not only in the treatment of patients, but also in their education on the way of life, including diabetes mellitus, was noted.
According to preliminary estimates by Opera, investments in this project will amount to about 12 million euros.
During the talks, other projects were discussed that can be implemented within the framework of partnership between the National Chamber of Innovative Healthcare of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Italian company "Opera".
According to Paolo De Angelis, Italy has extensive experience in medical tourism - patients from all over Europe and other countries of the world come to specialized Italian clinics for treatment. “Uzbekistan has great potential to become such a center in healthcare for its region, to play a leading role in medicine in Central Asia,” he said.
