Uzbekistan opens Consulate General in Guangzhou
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - On 27 October 2020, an official opening ceremony of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan was held in Guangzhou.
The ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to China Bakhtiyor Saidov, heads of the People’s Government of Guangdong Province and the city of Guangzhou, as well as representatives of the business, public and expert circles of this province, as well as our compatriots.
Ambassador of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov noted that the opening of the Consulate General will give an additional impetus to the development of multifaceted relations between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the PRC, first of all, to build up practical cooperation in all spheres without exception, to increase mutual trade between the regions of Uzbekistan and the southern provinces of the PRC.
It was noted that, being a large industrial, financial and transport center, the city of Guangzhou plays a key role in the development of interregional ties, strengthening cooperation in such areas as trade, economics, investment, energy, transport communications and others.
The Consulate General District includes Guangdong, Fujian, Hunan, Hainan Provinces, as well as Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of the PRC.
As part of the opening ceremony, a presentation of the investment, export and tourism potential of Uzbekistan took place, during which representatives of the Bureau of Commerce, Tourism, large companies of Guangdong province took part.
The participants were informed about the favorable business climate in Uzbekistan, the conditions for doing business on the territory of free economic zones, achievements in the development of the construction, textile industries, the agricultural industry and the prospects for cooperation in these areas.
