Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In January - September 2020, the growth rates of products (services) in agriculture, forestry and fisheries in Uzbekistan, compared with the corresponding period of last year, made up 3.4%, including in crop and livestock raising, hunting and provision of services in these areas –3.4%, forestry - 1.9%, fisheries - 12.0%.
According to preliminary data, in January-September 2020, the positive growth rates of the industry were achieved due to the following types of products, which showed higher growth rates compared to the same period in 2019:
Meat (live weight) — 2.2%
Milk — 2.9%
Cereals —2.4%
Vegetables —2.7%
Melons —4.2%
Fruits and berries —3.9%
Grapes —3.2%
Fish catch —9.8%
At the end of January - September 2020, 97.1% of the total volume of products (services) in agriculture, forestry and fisheries falls to the share of crop and livestock breeding, hunting and services provided in these areas (in January-September 2019 it amounted to 97.0%), 2.5% - forestry (2.5%), 0.4% - fisheries (0.5%).
In January - September 2020, in the context of regions, significant volumes of products (services) of agriculture, forestry and fisheries were noted in Samarkand (23.17 trillion soums), Tashkent (18.22 trillion soums) and Andijan (18.21 trillion soums) regions while in Syrdarya (6.09 trillion soums), the Republic of Karakalpakstan (6.21 trillion soums) and Navoi (8.33 trillion soums) regions, low volumes were observed.
Samarkand region in terms of the total volume of production (services) of agriculture, forestry and fisheries occupies a leading position in the republic, this is characterized by the fact that among the regions a significant share in the production of agricultural products such as milk, potatoes, vegetables and grapes belongs to this region. It should be noted that among the regions a low share in the production of such agricultural products as meat, eggs, fruits and berries was recorded in Syrdarya region.
The share of Samarkand region in the total volume of products (services) of agriculture, forestry and fisheries of the republic was 12.9% and it is the leader among the regions. Tashkent and Andijan regions occupy the next places with indicators of 10.1%. The lowest share was noted in Syrdarya (3.4%), the Republic of Karakalpakstan (3.5%) and Navoi (4.6%) regions.
High growth rates were observed in Navoi (+5.0%), Surkhandarya (+4.7%), Khorezm (+4.4%), Namangan (+4.4%), Jizzakh (+4.3%), Tashkent (+4.1%), Ferghana (+4.0%) and Andijan (+3.8%) regions. Compared to other regions, low growth rates were noted in the Samarkand (+0.7%) region, the Republic of Karakalpakstan (+1.7%) and Kashkadarya (+2.7%) regions.
The volume of agricultural production in January - September 2020 made up 174.0 trillion soums, or grew by 3.4% to the corresponding period of 2019, including crop production reached 84.3 trillion soums (+4.3%), livestock products - 89.7 trillion soums (+2.3%).
An analysis by categories of farms showed that 72.3% of the total volume of agricultural production falls on dehkan (personal subsidiary) farms, 24.7% - on farms, 3.0% - on organizations engaged in agricultural activities.
In the course of analyzing the distribution of the shares of gross agricultural production by categories of farms in the context of territories, it was noted that the highest rates in all regions are in dehkan (personal subsidiary) farms.
The share of dehkan (personal subsidiary) farms in the production of the main types of agricultural products: meat (live weight) — 92,7%, milk — 94,7%, potatoes — 86,2% and vegetables — 76,9%.
At the end of January - September 2020, a significant share of farms in the total volume of agricultural production was noted in the Samarkand region (31.0%), dehkan (personal subsidiary) farms in Navoi region (79.9%), and the share of organizations engaged in agricultural activities, recorded in the Tashkent region (9.3%).
A low share of farms in the total volume of agricultural production was noted in the Navoi region (16.9%), dehkan (personal subsidiary) farms of the Samarkand and Syrdarya regions (66.2%), and the share of organizations engaged in agricultural activities belongs to the Bukhara (1.4%) region.
The volume of crop production in January - September 2020 amounted to 84.2 trillion soums, or 104.3% compared to the corresponding period of 2019. The share of crop production in the total volume of agricultural production amounted to 48.4%.
In January-September 2020, all categories of farms produced 6.66 million tonnes of grain (an increase of 2.4% compared to January-September 2019). In the course of the analysis of grain indicators by categories of farms, it was revealed that 82.6% of the total volume of their production falls on the share of farms.
In January - September 2020, all categories of farms produced 7.63 million tonnes of vegetables (an increase of 2.7% compared to January - September 2019). In the course of analyzing the indicators of vegetables by categories of farms, it was revealed that 76.9% of the total volume of their production falls on the share of dehkan (personal subsidiary) farms.
In January - September 2020, all categories of farms produced 2 432.7 thousand tonnes of potatoes (an increase of 1.6% compared to January - September 2019). In the course of analyzing the indicators of potatoes by categories of farms, it was revealed that 86.2% of the total volume of their production falls on the share of dehkan (personal subsidiary) farms.
In January-September 2020, all categories of farms produced 1.4 million tonnes of melons (an increase of 4.2% compared to January-September 2019). In the course of the analysis of melon indicators by categories of farms, it was revealed that 64.1% of the total volume of their production falls on the share of dehkan (personal subsidiary) farms.
In January - September 2020, all categories of farms produced 2.06 million tonnes of fruits and berries (an increase of 3.9% compared to January - September 2019). In the course of the analysis of the indicators of fruits and berries by categories of farms, it was revealed that 61.3% of the total volume of their production falls on the share of dehkan (personal subsidiary) farms.
In January - September 2020, all categories of farms produced 1.27 million tonnes of grapes (an increase of 3.2% compared to January - September 2019). In the course of analyzing the indicators of fruits and berries by categories of farms, it was revealed that 55.4% of the total volume of their production falls on the share of dehkan (personal subsidiary) farms.
The volume of livestock production in January - September 2020 made up 89.7 trillion soums, or grew by 2.3% to the corresponding period of 2019. In the total volume of agricultural production, the share of livestock products reached 51.6%.
The consistent implementation of measures to further increase the potential of the livestock industry, as well as the systemic government support provided, contributed to the growth of livestock, saturation of the domestic consumer market with livestock products.
In January - September 2020, all categories of farms produced 1.84 million tonnes of meat in live weight (an increase of 2.2% compared to January - September 2019), 7.95 million tonnes of milk (by 2.9%), 5.45 billion eggs (by 0.8%), 30,100 tonnes of wool (by 0.3%), 1 million pieces karakul skins (by 0.1%), 59,851 tonnes of caught fish (by 9.8%).
Based on the results of the analysis of meat production by categories of farms in January-September 2020, it should be noted that the largest volume of meat was noted in dehkan (personal subsidiary) farms – 1.7 million tonnes, or 92.7% of the total volume of its production.
During this period, the smallest volume of meat production was observed in organizations engaged in agricultural activities – 56,600 tonnes, or 3.1% of the total volume of its production.
Compared to the same period in 2019, there was an increase in dehkan (personal subsidiary) farms by 3.0% and organizations engaged in agricultural activities - by 4.8%.
Among the categories of farms, the largest volume of milk production was noted in dehkan (personal subsidiary) farms – 7.53 million tonnes, or 94.7% of the total volume of milk production.
At the end of January - September 2020, the smallest volume was observed in organizations engaged in agricultural activities – 54,700 tonnes, or 0.7% of the total production.
In relation to 2019, growth over the specified period was recorded in farms - by 16.4% and dehkan (personal subsidiary) farms - by 2.3%.
Compared with other categories of farms, the largest volume of egg production was recorded in dehkan (personal subsidiary) farms – 3.27 billion pieces, or 59.9% of their total production.
In January - September 2020, the smallest production volume was observed in farms - 723.4 million units, or 13.3% of the total production.
In relation to 2019, growth was recorded in dehkan (personal subsidiary) farms by 2.6% and organizations engaged in agricultural activities - by 2.7%.
In the course of analyzing the indicators of fish catch by categories of farms, it was revealed that the main part of its catch was recorded in organizations engaged in agricultural activities – 31,120 tonnes, or 52.0% of the total catch.
At the end of January - September 2020, the smallest volume was observed in dehkan (personal subsidiary) farms – 5,001 tonnes, or 8.4% of the total catch.
In relation to 2019, growth was observed in farms - by 12.9%, dehkan (personal subsidiary) farms - by 1.0% and organizations engaged in agricultural activities - by 9.1%.
Analyzing the data on the number of cattle by category of farms as of 1 October 2020, it should be noted that 5.4% of cattle fall on farms, 93.4% - on dehkan (personal subsidiary) farms, 1.2% - on organizations engaged in agricultural activities, respectively, of the total number of sheep and goats on farms account for 12.2%, on dehkan (personal subsidiary) farms-82.6%, on organizations engaged in agricultural activities, – 5.2%, respectively, of the total number of horses, 17.8% fall on farms, 78.3% - on dehkan (personal subsidiary) farms, 3.9% - on organizations engaged in agricultural activities, as well as from the total number of birds, farms account for 12.9%, dehkan (personal subsidiary) farms – 59.0%, and organizations engaged in agricultural activities – 28.1%.
As of 1 October 2020, the total number of cattle reached 12.75 million heads. Compared to the corresponding period of 2019, in all categories of farms, the number of cattle increased by 203,000 heads (by 1.6%).
Analyzing the data on the number of cattle by category of farms as of 1 October 2020, it should be noted that 93.4% of cattle fall on dehkan (personal subsidiary) farms.
The total number of cows as of 1 October 2020 reached 4.57 million heads. Compared to the corresponding period of 2019, in all categories of farms, the number of cows increased by 50,100 heads (by 1.1%).
Analyzing the data on the number of cows by category of farms as of 1 October 2020, it should be noted that 94.0% of cows fall on dehkan (personal subsidiary) farms.
The total number of sheep and goats as of 1 October 2020 reached 21.97 million heads. Compared to the corresponding period of 2019, in all categories of farms, the livestock of sheep and goats increased by 324,100 heads (by 1.5%).
Analyzing the data on the livestock of sheep and goats by categories of farms as of 1 October 2020, it should be noted that 82.6% of sheep and goats fall on dehkan (personal subsidiary) farms.
The number of horses as of 1 October 2020 reached 244,154 heads. Compared to the corresponding period of 2019, in all categories of farms, the number of horses increased by 9,025 heads (by 3.8%).
Analyzing the data on the number of horses by category of farms as of 1 October 2020, it should be noted that 78.3% of horses fall on dehkan (personal subsidiary) farms.
The total number of birds as of 1 October 2020 reached 82.39 million heads. Compared to the corresponding period of 2019, the number of poultry in all categories of farms decreased by 595,700 heads (by 0.7%).
Analyzing the data on the number of poultry by categories of farms as of 1 October 2020, it should be noted that 59.0% of birds fall on dehkan (personal subsidiary) farms.
