Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- To replace identification cards, citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan will be able to contact the Public Service Centers.
According to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the issuance of an identification ID-card to a newborn is carried out on an optional basis at the discretion of his parents, guardians (trustees), after the registration of the birth with the registry office and the issuance of a birth certificate.
It has been established that the exchange of biometric passports of citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan and residence permit certificates of stateless persons and foreign citizens for ID cards is carried out:
the first stage from 1 January 2021 to 31 December 2022 on a voluntary basis, upon reaching the age of 16, as well as on other grounds provided for by law;
the second stage from 1 January 2023 to 31 December 2030 is mandatory.
The ID card is a document proving the identity of the owner and citizenship of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and is used on the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
