Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers "On additional measures for the use of modern information and communication technologies when considering issues of citizenship of the Republic of Uzbekistan" from 16 September 2020 No. 557 was adopted.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Information, the Ministry of Justice and the State Security Service have modernized automated information system "Passport-Visa" and created an interdepartmental database on citizenship of the Republic of Uzbekistan "E-Fuqaro". It was formed to ensure mutual cooperation between the relevant government agencies, input, accounting, control and monitoring of documents and information in this area.
Based on this database now:
- the procedures for receiving and considering applications for citizenship are automated;
- applications on citizenship issues are considered within the framework of interdepartmental electronic interaction between interested ministries and departments;
- a unified database on naturalization, restoration of citizenship and its loss is being formed.
Schemes for entering data into the E-Fuqaro information base and exchanging them through interdepartmental electronic interaction have been approved. The Program of Measures for the Development and Implementation of the E-Fuqaro MIBD was also approved.
Applications for admission to the citizenship of the Republic of Uzbekistan, withdrawal from it are accepted in real time through "E-Fuqaro".
The Ministry of Internal Affairs together with the State Security Service, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the State Center for Personalization under the Cabinet of Ministers, the State Tax Committee, the Ministry of Justice, the Prosecutor General's Office and other interested departments are responsible for the coordination and control of information systems used for updating, receiving and transmitting data from the E-Fuqaro MIBD.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs, together with the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Information Technologies, is responsible for ensuring the payment of state duties and fees for the provision of state services necessary for the consideration of applications on citizenship issues through the single billing system "Electronic Government".
Until 1 January 2021, a mechanism for submitting applications for admission to citizenship through the EPIGU for persons on the territory of Uzbekistan will be introduced. Persons permanently residing abroad will be able to apply through the section of the interactive consular service, posted on the Foreign Ministry website, with the condition of subsequent personal appeal.
