Implementation of the Law "On Protection of Women from Oppression and Violence" is being studied in Kashkadarya region
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 21 September 2020, members of the Senate Committee of the Oliy Majlis on Women and Gender Equality, as part of a working group, departed for Kashkadarya region to study the implementation of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Protection of Women from Oppression and Violence".
In the course of the study, a comprehensive analysis of such issues as the timely identification of women’s problems in the region, the provision of targeted assistance to women in need of social protection, women with disabilities, especially work with a certain category of women is carried out.
The work carried out in the field of providing assistance to women victims of violence, as well as practical work carried out in this direction, is studied in detail. To date, 502 protection orders have been issued in the region. In particular, the working group gets acquainted with the work being carried out in this direction in the Karshi, Kasan regions and the city of Karshi.
The work done in makhallas to increase the participation of women in managing the affairs of the state and society, ensuring the rights and interests of women in difficult social situations is also being studied. The members of the working group also focus on the implementation of the task of creating equal rights and opportunities for women and men in the field of family relations. The study continues.
