Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- High-ranking adviser to the Minister of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan Karsten Heinz organized a webinar to improve the quality of research activities and the efficiency of commercializing the results of scientific activities for vice-rectors (deputy directors) for research and innovation of higher educational institutions.
It was also attended by Marius Wenning, researcher from the Rhine-Westphalian Technical University of Aachen, Alexander Sohr from the Berlin Institute for Transport Systems, Lukas Degener, representative of LIST Digital GmbH & Co.
It should be noted that in pursuance of the instructions given during the visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Ministry of Innovative Development from 12 June 2020, a schedule of online seminars for vice-rectors (deputy directors) for science and innovation of higher educational institutions was approved in order to improve the quality of scientific activities and the effectiveness of commercialization of the results of scientific activity. The webinar was held in accordance with the approved plan, and to date, five such meetings and online seminars have been held.
Mr. Heinz shared his view on the formation of a system of regulation and support for innovation infrastructure, innovation sphere on the example of the German experience. In particular, the competition announced by the Ministry of Innovative Development and the German Federal Ministry of Education and Science (BMBF) was discussed in detail.
Issues such as finding a project idea, defining a project concept, finding a German partner to participate in the competition were discussed. K. Heinz drew attention to the need to offer a draft concept of his idea from the very beginning, as well as to find a partner. He recommended looking for expatriates in scientific institutions in Germany and asking a question to Uzbek scientists who have experience of cooperation with Germany!
