Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Islamic civilization is a complex of successes achieved in the development of human society in the field of material and spiritual culture of peoples professing Islam.
The great ancestors of the Uzbek and other peoples of Central Asia, with their unique works and achievements, played a great role in the formation and development of Islamic philosophy, culture, science and education, creating the foundations of Muslim civilization and making an invaluable contribution to the history of all mankind.
As you know, on the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the Center for Islamic Civilization (CIC) is being built in Tashkent, which is designed to become a unique building of great cultural and educational significance not only for our country, but also for the entire Muslim world.
This Center, along with the study of the great scientific and cultural heritage of the Uzbek people, will also preserve it for future generations, promote the true - peace-loving, humane, creative essence of Islam, which is the most important mission in our troubled age.
The structure of the CIC includes a museum and exhibition halls, a library and an archive, rooms for computer and information technologies, departments of manuscripts, calligraphy, storage of Islamic heritage, research and development, international cooperation and the study of foreign languages, as well as a laboratory for the restoration of manuscripts.
The center will have one of the world’s largest original and electronic database of ancient manuscripts, lithographic books, as well as historical acts and documents, modern books and publications on religion and education stored in Uzbekistan and abroad, as well as a library with more than 100 thousand manuscripts.
A special place in the Center will be occupied by the unique Koran of Usman, one of the oldest copies of the Muslim holy book. Expanded expositions will be created dedicated to the "golden age of Islamic science", the embodiment of which were the great ancestors of the Uzbek people Muhammad Khorazmi, Ahmad Fergani, Abu Ali Ibn Sino, Beruni, Mirzo Ulugbek and others.
Taking into account the importance of using advanced international experience in the process of creating the Center, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Rome has carried out work to attract leading Italian companies with extensive knowledge, practical experience and technical capabilities in this area to participate in the project.
In particular, such Italian and European companies as “iDogi” (production of large products from luminous Venetian glass and crystal), “Margraf” (production and installation of natural marble), “Lasvit” (glass and lighting products ), GTArchitects (architecture and interior design) and Novello Giardini (landscape design) expressed interest in the CIC project. Their representatives have repeatedly visited Uzbekistan and presented their exclusive proposals aimed at creating such a CIC complex that would have no analogues in the whole world.
Taking into account the quarantine restrictions and in order to continue the dialogue on the project, the diplomatic mission of our country in Rome organized a video conference with the Italian company "iDogi" with the participation of leaders and experts of the Ministry of Construction of Uzbekistan, the Tashkent city administration, the CIC directorate and the construction company Trest 12 JSC.
During the conference, iDogi CEO Domenico Caminiti and Special Projects Development Manager Silvia Formentin held a detailed presentation of the company with a virtual visit to the gallery of the best samples of finished products, as well as the company’s proposals for the CIC.
“IDogi” proposes to create a crystal pavilion in the center of the CIC to accommodate the original of the Koran by Usman, as well as chandeliers for the central halls. The pavilion and chandeliers will be made according to an exclusive design in the same style from crystal, Venetian glass with oriental ornaments, inlaid with malachite and lapis lazuli.
According to the head of iDogi, D. Kaminiti, who visited Uzbekistan in October 2019, Venice and Uzbekistan have long-standing historical ties. As he noted, back in the 13th century, the famous Venetian merchant and traveler Marco Polo outlined his impressions and admiration for Uzbek cities and people in his "Book on the diversity of the world."
Marco Polo and other Venetian merchants transported goods along the Great Silk Road, the main caravan routes of which passed through the territory of modern Uzbekistan.
“We have great respect and interest in the cultural heritage of the Uzbek people, which inspires us to participate in this grandiose historical project,” said D. Kaminity.
For their part, representatives of the CIC Directorate made a detailed presentation on the structure and main directions of the Center’s activities, which made a great impression on the designers and architects of “iDogi”.
The scientific adviser of the CIC, academician Tursunali Kuziev, who took part in the conference, emphasized: “Uzbekistan is the homeland of a huge number of scientists and theologians who brought the Islamic religion world fame. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev quite reasonably put forward the national idea of building a Center for Islamic Civilization in Tashkent. By its grandeur, beauty and content, the Center will become the pride of the Uzbek people and the entire Islamic world.
It is gratifying that the leading companies in Italy are showing interest in participating in the project, which are leaders in preserving centuries-old cultural traditions and combining them with modern technologies. "
The participants of the online meeting agreed to continue the exchange of information and materials in order to jointly consider and agree on the artistic style, colors and parameters of iDogi products for the CIC in Tashkent.
After the lifting of quarantine restrictions in Uzbekistan and Italy, an exchange of visits of delegations of representatives of the involved organizations of the republic and the Italian company will take place.
