Prospects for expanding the export of Uzbek silk to South Korea discussed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Republic of Korea held a meeting with the President of the South Korean company Shema Silk Pak Sung Kwon to discuss issues of expanding cooperation in the trade and economic sphere, Dunyo news agency reported.
In particular, during the negotiations, it was about establishing the supply of Uzbek silk to the market of the Republic of Korea.
The President of the South Korean company expressed interest in expanding cooperation with manufacturers of silk fabrics in Uzbekistan. He noted that South Korea is well aware of the developed production and high quality of silk fabrics, their variety and unique design.
Currently, the company is already cooperating with Uzbek partners, who have submitted samples of silk fabrics for study by Shema Silk. It is planned that the fabric will be used to sew the Korean traditional hanbok costume.
Shema Silk has over 30 years of experience in the silk trade, owns facilities for the production of finished silk products, cooperates with companies from China and India. Taking into account the high quality of Uzbek products, Shema Silk intends to establish long-term cooperation with Uzbek companies.
Following the meeting, the parties reached an agreement to continue the active exchange of necessary information, including commercial offers from Uzbek manufacturers, as well as to identify promising areas of cooperation.
