Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Embassy of Uzbekistan in the Benelux countries held negotiations in the format of a video conference with the manager of the Dutch company VegHands Christian Oosterlaan, Dunyo news agency reported.
VegHands specializes in providing innovative and cost-effective solutions for the agricultural industry. It manufactures modern equipment for weighing, sorting, packaging, vacuum cooling systems, is one of the leading suppliers of equipment for various types of packaging, including fruits and vegetables for exporters and agronomists of Benelux and Asia.
Christian Oosterlaan welcomed the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan, including the liberalization of the economy and support for the private sector.
“During the transition period, government support is extremely important for business,” said the VegHands manager. “We see how Uzbekistan is actively increasing its export potential in such items as fruits and vegetables, the success of which depends to a large extent on quality packaging.”
He also noted that Uzbekistan’s desire to join the World Trade Organization and other generally recognized structures also contributes to the business spirit of European businessmen in relation to opportunities in Uzbekistan.
Christian Oosterlaan expressed his readiness to implement a project to organize vacuum packaging of vegetables and fruits in the Surkhandarya region, including within the framework of the system of preferences and benefits on the territory of the Free Economic Zone "Termez".
In particular, within the framework of the project, the Dutch side is ready to supply equipment "VegPack FP-50" for packaging fruits and vegetables. This technique is very easy to use and guarantees smooth operation and a long service life. The software allows you to easily and quickly set the desired size. Such equipment has already been successfully tested in a number of CIS countries.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to discuss the details of the conditions for the implementation of this project with the Uzbek side.
