Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Russia and Uzbekistan discussed the possibility of creating a Russian-Uzbek low-cost airline for air transportation of passengers and cargo, the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation reports.
The ministry notes that today the second meeting of the subcommittee on cooperation in the field of transport of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Uzbekistan was held in the videoconference mode, RIA Novosti reports.
The Russian side was headed by the First Deputy Minister of Transport - Head of the Federal Air Transport Agency Alexander Neradko, the Uzbek side - by the Minister of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan Elyor Ganiev.
“The parties considered topical issues of bilateral cooperation, paying special attention to interaction in the field of air transport. In particular, the parties discussed the preparation for signing an agreement between the Federal Air Transport Agency and the Civil Aviation Agency on cooperation in the field of airworthiness. In addition, they talked about the possibility of increasing the number of flights between the two countries and creating a Russian-Uzbek low-cost air carrier for the transportation of passengers and cargo,” the statement says.
