Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan and Turkey completed ratification procedures for the entry into force of the intergovernmental Agreement on the international carriage of passengers and goods by road (enters into force on 8 August 2020) and an intergovernmental agreement on the international combined transport of goods (entered into force 9 July 2020).
These international treaties were signed during the visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Turkey on 25 October 2017.
The provisions of the agreement on the international carriage of passengers and goods determine the procedure and conditions for the transport of goods between the territories of two countries and transit through their territories, as well as to / from third countries.
The document stipulates the annual exchange on an equal footing of a mutually agreed number of permits for international freight without paying tolls.
The agreement is aimed at creating favorable conditions for international road carriers and further developing trade relations between the two countries by increasing the volume of mutual transportation of goods by road.
The agreement on international combined transportation of goods is applied to the transportation of goods between Uzbekistan and Turkey, as well as transit through their territories, partially by rail, water and road.
The main advantage of this agreement is the delivery of goods under a single transportation document (permit) throughout the entire route of the cargo, even if several modes of transport are involved in the transportation.
The legal regulation of combined freight within the framework of the agreement ensures the continuity of mutual deliveries of goods between the two countries.
