Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Republican Commission decided to provide support about 120,000 families in need, who are currently in a difficult financial situation during the 20-day quarantine period. They will be provided with food, medicine and basic necessities.
When developing a list of those in need of support, the following families will have priority:
- Lonely elderly people without a source of support, large families with disabilities, separated from their breadwinners, and also seriously ill;
- Families whose social benefits do not cover real needs, as well as families that do not have an additional source of income;
- Families that have lost both parents and whose relatives raise their children;
- Families in which one or both parents are disabled;
- Widowed women (widows) raising two or more children under the age of 14 years and living separately from other relatives;
- Families in which one or both parents are unemployed and are registered in job centers as job seekers;
- Families in which there are able-bodied members, but they are temporarily not working anywhere or temporarily deprived of income due to a pandemic (seasonal worker, foreman, worker, hairdresser, workers abroad, taxi drivers, cafes, restaurant workers, etc.) and need the help of a family.
Under the leadership of the deputy khokims for social affairs, working groups will be created consisting of representatives of the Ministry of Mahalla and Family Support and the Youth Agency, as well as sponsorship, charity coordination and volunteer centers for targeted distribution and provision of financial assistance.
