Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 9 July, a meeting of members of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly was held in the form of video conference.
During the meeting, it was noted that this event is important because there is a great need for cooperation and the exchange of advanced groups between members of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly during the coronavirus pandemic.
During the online meeting, the impact of СOVID-19 infection on the healthcare sector, the economy and other industries in the Asian continent was discussed. At the same time, modern methods of combating a pandemic, issues of continuous and comprehensive economic recovery of the Asian continent are also considered.
In addition, opinions were expressed about the negative consequences and precautions during the pandemic, the mechanisms and formats of online meetings in the future.
Chairman of the Senate Committee of the Oliy Majlis on issues of international relations, foreign economic relations, foreign investment and tourism Ravshanbek Alimov spoke about timely and important reforms carried out in Uzbekistan under the leadership of the head of state, the creation of a special commission, and strict measures taken against the epidemic. At the same time, he noted the effective measures taken to reduce the negative impact of the pandemic on the country's economy and the income level of citizens.
The senator also emphasized that the pandemic requires active international cooperation, support, together with members of parliament, including the Asian Parliamentary Assembly, of effective measures taken to create a system of epidemiological control, the importance of adopting international legal standards for green corridors to prevent infectious diseases, and join efforts to diagnose and treatment, emergency care during quarantine.
