Ambassador of Uzbekistan meets with Malaysian Minister of Health

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 2 July 2020, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Kuala Lumpur Ravshan Usmanov met with the Minister of Health of Malaysia, Adham bin Baba.
During the conversation, the state and priority directions for the further development of the Uzbek-Malaysian cooperation in the field of health and medicine were discussed.
The parties informed each other about measures taken in Uzbekistan and Malaysia to counteract the spread of coronavirus and expressed their readiness to cooperate in this direction, including in the development of drugs and vaccines against it.
Following the negotiations, the following agreements were reached:
- organization of a videoconference between experts in the field of health and medicine for the exchange of best practices in the fight against coronavirus, as well as for the control of the sanitary and epidemiological surveillance system;
- exploring the possibility of organizing training programs and continuing education courses for domestic specialists in the field of surgery (neurosurgery, oncological surgery, transplantology) and therapeutic treatment (radiation and chemotherapy, treatment of rheumatological diseases) in Malaysia as the situation with the coronavirus pandemic stabilizes;
- consideration of the possibility of creating a joint clinic and / or managing a medical institution in Uzbekistan with the participation of leading private and state clinics and companies in Malaysia, including for the development of medical tourism in the republic.
