Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 1 July 2020, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine Mykola Doroshenko.
Accepting copies of his credentials, the Minister congratulated the Ambassador on taking office and wished him success in strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation between Uzbekistan and Ukraine.
At the meeting, topical issues of Uzbek-Ukrainian interaction in various fields were discussed. Particular attention is paid to the development of cooperation in trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian, tourism, educational, medical and other fields.
The proposals on joint activities, including the next meeting of the Uzbek-Ukrainian Intergovernmental Commission on comprehensive cooperation, were considered.
During the conversation, it was noted that the coronavirus pandemic negatively affects the performance of bilateral trade. In this context, the parties confirmed their interest in enhancing direct contacts between business circles, chambers of commerce and the regions of Uzbekistan and Ukraine.
The parties expressed their readiness to implement joint scientific projects, intensify cooperation in the field of science, technology and innovation.
During the negotiations, other issues of mutual interest were also discussed.
