A cluster for the processing of municipal solid waste will be created in Samarkand region with the participation of South Korean investors

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Representatives of the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade, khokimiyats of Samarkand region and Jambai district held online negotiations with the president of the South Korean company Samdong ENT Co., Ltd. Jong Yong-Kew, which discussed the implementation of an investment project for the processing of municipal solid waste, Dunyo reported.
It was about speeding up the creation of a cluster for the processing of municipal solid waste on the basis of Samdong Re Jomboy LLC in Jambai district for a total of US$35 million. It should be noted that this project is included in the Investment Program of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2020-2022 and has a priority character for both the Uzbek and the South Korean side.
Confirming once again his interest in accelerating the implementation of this project, the South Korean businessman announced that he was currently studying the information provided by the Samarkand regional khokimiyat and the State Committee for Ecology and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Uzbekistan regarding established standards, on the basis of which an economic justification would be prepared project.
The feasibility of the project lies in the efficient collection and processing of municipal solid waste. For this, Samdong ENT Co., Ltd. plans to purchase special vehicles for garbage collection.
In order to expedite the negotiation process and begin the practical implementation of the project, representatives of Samdong ENT Co., Ltd. informed about the readiness to visit Uzbekistan in the near future as the opening of international air services.
Following the results of online negotiations, the parties agreed to organize another videoconference and start working on the issue of the upcoming visit of South Korean investors to Samarkand region.
