Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On the International Children’s Day, the Zamin Foundation presented an educational development program for about 5,000 hearing-impaired students from specialized boarding schools across the country. The purpose of the project is to provide new teaching methods, improve the infrastructure of boarding schools.
On the International Children’s Day, the Zamin Foundation presents an educational development program for children with hearing impairments. The project will regularly conduct surgical operations to restore students’ hearing. This means that hearing-impaired children will be able to hear the voices of loving mothers, caring fathers, environmental sounds, music, and live a full life.
The Zamin Foundation is ready to give joy to all children, regardless of their physical condition. After all, you are a delight to our eyes, our future and the meaning of our whole life, said Ziroat Mirziyoyeva, chairman of the board of trustees of the foundation
Partial or total hearing loss deprives people of an important source of information and limits the process of intellectual development. Children with disabilities often face difficulties, and access to education is one of the main ones.
The program is divided into three stages:
Equipping specialized boarding schools with modern assistive equipment
Specialized schools will be equipped with modern assistive (auxiliary) equipment that meets international standards, including audio classes for group lessons, speech simulators for individual lessons, audiometers and stationary sound amplifiers for further use in the educational process.
Improving teaching methods
A comprehensive analysis of current educational programs in schools for children with hearing impairment is planned. For this, the project organizers together with the Ministry of Public Education of Uzbekistan will attract leading international expert institutes and their specialists. Educational methods will be developed using the latest assistive technologies in specialized schools.
Cochlear implantation for school children
An important part of the program will be the free conduct of 30 cochlear implant surgeries per year for schoolchildren. This phase also includes subsequent rehabilitation.
