Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An article has been published on the website of the Berliner Telegraph magazine on eliminating the consequences of a breakthrough in the dam of the Sardoba reservoir in Syrdarya region of Uzbekistan, Dunyo reports.
It says that restoration work is in full swing and by 1 September, local residents will move into the new houses built. It is emphasized that this was stated by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at a meeting with the population of the affected areas.
The publication notes that in only one of the mahallas of Sardoba district, it is planned to erect 37 high-rise buildings. The first stone in the construction was laid by the head of state. It is also noted that all of Uzbekistan responded to the trouble of Syrdarya. Humanitarian aid began to come from abroad - from compatriots and partners.
The article also reports on the participation of Uzbek compatriots living in Germany in the material and moral support of the affected residents of Syrdarya region.
“More than 10 thousand euros were raised by Uzbek compatriots living in Germany for victims of the disaster in Syrdarya region. The German-Uzbek Friendship Society in Bonn, the German-Uzbek Cultural Society “Humo” and caring citizens took the initiative to organize humanitarian assistance. The Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Frankfurt supported public organizations. All funds raised will be distributed among the victims,” writes BT.
