Uzbekistan to launch “a month of tourism for the elderly”
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On additional measures to further improve the system of state support for older people” has been adopted. The document envisages organization of travel around the country for older people in order to support them.
So, from 1 to 30 November, each year, the “Tourism Month for the Elderly” will be held. At the same time, voluntary discounts and promotions are provided for travelers at tourist infrastructure facilities in the regions, as well as for inter-regional bus, air and train tickets.
For older people, discounts of up to 50% are given for visits to objects of tangible cultural heritage, museums and theaters, as well as for additional services.
By 1 October 2020, a list of senior people with disabilities of group I for travel will be compiled as part of the Travel for All! Charity project. Trips will be organized within the country no more than once a year.
