Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to preliminary data, in January-April 2020, enterprises of Uzbekistan produced industrial products worth 104.2 trillion soums, the index of physical volume of industrial production compared to the same period of 2019 was 94.6%. In the structure of production, the largest share falls on manufacturing enterprises (78.4%), the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.
The main factor in the decline in the physical volume of industrial production was a decrease in the volume of mining and quarrying - by 18.3%, manufacturing - by 2.5%, water supply, sewerage, waste collection and disposal - by 11.4%, while there is an increase in production of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning - by 5.5%.
The volume of products produced by mining and quarrying enterprises in January-April 2020 made up 12.7 trillion soums, or 12.2% of the total industry.
Compared to the same period of 2019, there is an increase in coal production by 19.1%, crushed stone - by 17.6% and oil - by 0.6%. At the same time, there is a decrease in gas condensate production - by 6.4%, gravel - by 77.8%, kaolin - by 46.4%, natural gas production - by 15.9%.
In the structure of the manufacturing industry, the share of high-tech industries made up 1.9% (1.7% for January-April 2019), medium-hightech - 24.9% (26.2%), medium-low-tech - 37.8% (36.0%) and low-tech - 35.4% (36.1%).
In the volume of the manufacturing industry, the share of enterprises for the production, repair, assembly of machinery and equipment, the production of cars, trailers, semi-trailers and other finished products made up 20.3% (the physical volume index reached 100.5% compared to January-April 2019), metallurgical industry - 25.1% (98.2%), enterprises for the production of textile, clothing and leather products - 17.3% (106.1%), enterprises for the production of food, beverages and tobacco - 15.7% (97.2%), enterprises for the production of chemical products, rubber and plastic products - 9.5% (93.4%).
In January-April 2020, 365.8 thousand tons of motor gasoline were produced in the republic (an increase of 18.5% compared to the corresponding period of 2019), 153.8 thousand tons of cotton yarn (39.5%), 615.0 thousand tons of soft and spelled wheat flour (23.3%) and 49.7 million liters of beer (6.5%).
In January-April 2020, 424 buses were produced in the republic (decrease in production by 28.5% compared to the corresponding period of 2019). The largest production volume in 2020 was recorded in March, amounting to 176 units.
In January-April 2020, 77.1 thousand automobile engines were produced in the republic. (growth - by 20.9% compared to the corresponding period of 2019). In 2020, the largest volume of production of these products was noted in March, amounting to 22.5 thousand pieces.
In January-April 2020, in the republic 1237 trucks were produced (the volume of production decreased by 28.5% compared to the corresponding period of 2019). In 2020, the largest volume of production of these products was noted in March, amounting to 378 pcs.
Compared to the same period of 2019, in the manufacturing industry the production of passenger cars increased by 1.2 times, automobile engines - by 1.2 t., automobile gasoline - by 1.2 t., running wheels, their parts and accessories - 1.2 t., radiators, silencers and exhaust pipes, clutches, steering wheels, steering columns, crankcase steering gears and parts thereof - 1.4 t. In the automotive industry, in January-April 2020, 25 081 cars of “Nexia” brand were produced (the growth rate compared to the same period of 2019 was 113.8%), 23 694 - “Cobalt” (139.6%), 17 907 - “Gentra” (140.7%), 17 561 - “Damas” (123.6%), 10 365 - “Spark” (158.1%) and 2 119 - “Labo” (79.5%).
In January-April 2020, 456 tractors were produced in the republic (production growth increased by 2.8 t. compared to January-April 2019). The largest volume of tractor production was recorded in April 2020, amounting to 234 pcs.
In January-April 2020, 403 rippers and cultivators were produced in the republic. (production decline was recorded by 35.7% compared to the corresponding period of 2019). In April 2020, the largest production volume of these products was recorded, amounting to 144 pcs.
The overhaul of technological equipment allowed increasing the capacity utilization of chemical enterprises and exceeding the previous year’s production indicators of ammonium sulfate (+10.0% versus January-April 2019), potassium chloride (+4.8%) and caustic soda (2.7 t.). At the same time, there is a decrease in the production of methyl alcohol (43.3% compared to January-April 2019), paints and varnishes based on acrylic or vinyl polymers (64.5%).
The volume of products produced by electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning enterprises made up 9.1 trillion soums (8.8% of the total industry).
The index of physical volume of the industry, compared with the corresponding period of 2019, increased by 5.5%.
The volume of products produced by enterprises of water supply, sewerage, waste collection and disposal made up 0.7 trillion soums (0.6% of the total industry).
Compared with the corresponding period of 2019, there was an increase in textile waste production by 11.7%, non-hazardous waste collection services - by 27.5%, services for emptying, cleaning and treating cesspools, sumps and septic tanks - by 18.3%. At the same time, a decrease in the volume of services for disposal, transportation of wastewater and their treatment by 6.7% was recorded.
As a result of measures taken to expand the range and stimulate the production of finished products, the production of consumer goods made up 31.0 trillion soum and, compared with the corresponding period of 2019, increased by 4.9%, the share in the total industry made up 29.8%.
Compared to the same period of 2019, in the structure of consumer goods production for January-April 2020, an increase in the share of nonfood products was observed from 64.5% to 65.0%.
In the structure of food products, the production of wine-vodka products and beer made up 7.7% (7.9% for January-April 2019). In the structure of production of consumer goods in the republic, the largest share falls on the Andijan region (26.7% of the total consumer goods), Tashkent city (19.0%), Tashkent (9.0%), Samarkand (8.3%) and Ferghana (6.2%) regions. The largest growth in consumer goods production was recorded in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (108.5% compared to the corresponding period of 2019), Khorezm (117.2%), Ferghana (114.0%), Andijan (107.2%) regions and the city of Tashkent (112.6%), exceeding the national average (104.9%)
In the structure of food production in the republic, the largest share falls on the city of Tashkent (22.6% of the total volume of food products), Tashkent (15.7%), Samarkand (9.1%), Ferghana (6.5%) and Andijan (6.5%) region. At the same time, the largest growth in food production was recorded in Ferghana (+23.0% compared to January-April 2019), Surkhandarya (+11.2%), Namangan (+14.1%) regions and the city of Tashkent (+14.5%).
In the structure of production of non-food products of the republic, the largest share falls on the Andijan region (37.5% of the total non-food products), Tashkent (17.1%), Samarkand (7.8%), Khorezm (6.7%) and Ferghana (6.1%) regions.
The largest growth in the production of non-food products was recorded in Khorezm (+24.6% compared to the corresponding period of 2019), Navoi (+8.1%), Ferghana (+9.4%) regions, the Republic of Karakalpakstan (+11.2%) and Tashkent city (+11.2%).
During the reporting period, enterprises with foreign investment produced products worth 25.4 trillion soums, the share of which in the total volume of production was 24.5%.
The change in industrial production was significantly affected by a decrease in the index of physical volume of industrial production in Samarkand (-18.8% versus January-April 2019), Kashkadarya (-10.4%), Syrdarya (-10%), and Tashkent (-3.9 %), Ferghana (-1.5%) regions and the city of Tashkent (-1.1%).
At the same time, there has been a significant increase in consumer goods production in Khorezm (+17.2% compared to January-April 2019), Ferghana (+14.0%), Andijan (+7.2%), Navoi (+3.6%), Surkhandarya (+2.1%) regions, the Republic of Karakalpakstan (+8.5%) and the city of Tashkent (+12.6%).
In the structure of industrial production of the republic, the largest share falls on enterprises in Tashkent city (16.6% of the republican volume of industry), Navoi (16.6%), Tashkent (16.7%), Andijan (10.5%) and Ferghana (5.8%) regions. The smallest share of industrial production was recorded at the enterprises of Surkhandarya (1.4%) and Jizzakh (1.5%) regions.
An analysis of the differentiation of industrial output per capita showed an excess of the national average (3 066.9 thousand soums) in Navoi (17 353.1 thousand soums), Tashkent (5 911.0 thousand soums), Andijan (3 499.3 thousand soums) regions and the city of Tashkent (6 706.6 thousand soums). The production of consumer goods per capita in the reporting period in the republic made up 913.7 thousand soums, including 2 288.7 thousand soums in the city of Tashkent, 2 641.3 thousand soums in the Andijan region, and 948.5 thousand soums in the Tashkent region, Navoi region - 959.0 thousand soums, Khorezm region - 945.2 thousand soums.
For the reporting period, small businesses produced products worth 21.6 trillion soums, the share of which in the total volume of production made up 20.8%.
By regions, the largest share of small business was observed in the Jizzakh region (43.8% of the total industry of the region), Tashkent city (34.4%), Surkhandarya (37.1%), Samarkand (36.8%), Namangan (35.3%) and Ferghana (31.5%) regions.
At the same time, the smallest share of small business was noted in Navoi (5.9%), Andijan (15.9%) and Tashkent (14.5%) regions, as well as in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (17.4%). The analysis of the structure of industrial production by regions of the republic showed that the low share of production of small businesses in the total industry is explained by the significant production volume of large industrial enterprises located in these regions.
Today, 72.1 thousand industrial enterprises operate in the republic, of which 14.7 thousand (20.4% of the total number of functioning enterprises) are in Tashkent city, 7.8 thousand (10.8%) - Ferghana, 7.7 thousand (10.7%) - Tashkent, 7.0 thousand (9.7%) - Andijan, 6.0 thousand (8.3%) - Samarkand and 5.6 thousand (7.8%) - Namangan region.
In January-April 2020, 5 367 industrial enterprises were newly created in the republic, of which 582 (10.8% of the total number of newly created) are located in Tashkent city, 463 (8.6%) - Tashkent, 751 (14, 0%) - Andijan, 437 (8.1%) - Khorezm, 495 (9.2%) - Samarkand and 389 (7.2%) - Ferghana regions.
Today, the largest number of operating industrial enterprises is located in the cities of Andijan (2 589 units), Namangan (2 340 units), Samarkand (1 424 units), Kokand (1 342 units), as well as in the following districts of Tashkent: Almazar (2 035 units), Chilanzar (1 858 units), Uchtepa (1 796 units), Yunusabad (1 603 units), Shaikhantakhur (1 335 units) and Sergeli (1 266 units).
As of May 1, 2020, the smallest number of operating industrial enterprises is located in the city of Shirin (42 units) and Sardoba (57 units) district of Syrdarya region; Tamdy district (44 units) of Navoi region; Yangiabad district (51 units) of the Jizzakh region; Kegeyli (59 units), Kanlykul (55 units), Takhtakupyr (50 units) and Bozatau (10 units) districts of the Republic of Karakalpakstan; Bandikhan district (13 units) of the Surkhandarya region; as well as in the Tuprakkala region (1 unit) of the Khorezm region.3
