Japanese company to expand licorice root processing project in the Republic of Karakalpakstan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - With the assistance of the diplomatic mission of Uzbekistan in Japan, negotiations were held in the form of a video conference of B. Khabibullaev, deputy chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, with N. Yoshid, president of Cokey Systems, Dunyo reported.
As part of the effort to intensify investment cooperation in implementing projects in the regions of the republic, as well as promoting exports, issues of further expansion of the licorice root processing enterprise located in Kungradsky District were discussed.
The online event provides information on comprehensive measures taken in Uzbekistan to combat coronavirus infection, including support for economic sectors. The importance of ensuring timely and accelerated implementation of plans for investment projects, despite the situation with coronavirus, was separately emphasized.
The parties in a constructive manner discussed issues related to the development of land allocated for licorice root cultivation, equipment modernization at the established enterprise, as well as increasing the volume of finished goods export.
The president of Cokey Systems confirmed the interest of the Japanese company in the further development of cooperation with Uzbekistan and the expansion of existing production capacities at the established enterprise. In particular, he noted that the company has already sent modern laboratory equipment, which will subsequently deepen the degree of processing of licorice root.
As a result of the negotiations, an agreement was reached on the adoption by the parties of practical measures on all the issues discussed and the further deepening of mutually beneficial cooperation.
