Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Representatives of the Bukhara region khokimiyat, headed by the deputy khokim for investment and foreign trade R. Asadov, held online talks with the general directors of Qatari companies “Redco International” Safe Rahman Khan and “Constellation Hotels Holding” Zaki al-Guiziri, Dunyo reported.

The event was organized with the participation of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Kuwait (part-time in Qatar). Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan Bahromjon Aloyev took part in the video conference.

During the negotiations, the parties discussed issues of establishing investment cooperation in the field of tourism, light industry and renewable energy sources. In particular, they considered the possibility of implementing investment projects for the construction of a five-star hotel in Bukhara, the creation of textile production and renewable energy sources.

The Qatari side was provided with detailed information about the wide opportunities for establishing investment cooperation in these areas, created favorable conditions and preferences for foreign investors.

It is worth noting that the main shareholder of the aforementioned Qatari companies is the former Prime Minister, the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, now a major businessman Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al-Thani, a member of the ruling family.

Safeco Rahman Khan, General Director of the Qatari company Redco International, announced the sincere intentions of Sheikh Hamad bin Jasim Al Thani to participate in major investment projects in Uzbekistan. Moreover, the implementation of the project for the construction of a five-star hotel in the center of Bukhara is one of the sheikh’s main proposals.

Zaki al-Guiziri, Director General of Constellation Hotels Holding, outlining his vision and proposals for establishing cooperation in the hotel industry, requested to consider the possibility of allocating a site for the construction of a hotel in Bukhara or providing an appropriate building for possible reconstruction as a hotel.

Representatives of the Bukhara regional khokimiyat proposed possible options, including the construction of a hotel in the Bukhara City complex, and also answered questions of interest to investors.

Given the interest of the Qatari side, an exchange of views on the implementation of investment projects in the field of textiles and energy took place.

So, the head of “Redco International” emphasized that these areas are the priority areas of his company. In this regard, he expressed readiness to study the proposals of the Uzbek side on the establishment and development of mutually beneficial cooperation in these areas.

As a result of the meeting, agreements were reached on providing, as soon as possible, the khokimiyat of Bukhara region with specific proposals for the implementation of the hotel construction project taking into account the wishes of the Qatari side.

In addition, the Uzbek side will in the near future provide detailed information on the development of the textile industry and the availability of relevant raw materials in the Bukhara region, the opportunities available for building a textile factory, exporting textile products, its demand on the domestic market and other information.

The proposals submitted by Qatari companies for the implementation of renewable energy projects will also be examined by the Uzbek side for further consideration and networking.
