Implementation of the project for the construction of a photovoltaic station in Uzbekistan was discussed in Paris

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The Agreement signed with the company “Total Eren” on cooperation in the construction of photovoltaic stations in our country signed in October 2018 during the official visit of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to France opened a new page in bilateral cooperation in this direction.

In order to discuss the implementation of the project in Samarkand region, the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Paris organized a video conference with Senior Vice President of Total Eren Fabien Demol, Dunyo reports.

During the negotiations, the French side noted the importance attached to the implementation of the first large-scale project in the field of alternative energy in Central Asia, which is carried out on the basis of public-private partnership. The readiness of Total Eren to invest 150 million euros in the construction of an energy facility with a total capacity of 100 MW in Uzbekistan was confirmed.

The project partners of the company are the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade and JSC "National Electric Networks of Uzbekistan". The company has already installed meteorological instruments for collecting data on the energy potential of the Samarkand region. The completion and launch of the project are scheduled for the end of 2021.

Demol also said that the company “Total Eren” allocated charitable funds in the amount of US$25,000 to support the fight against the spread of coronavirus in Uzbekistan, some of which will go to the account of the public fund “Mehr-shafkat va salomatlik”, the rest - to Samarkand region.

Total Eren is a French company, one of the leaders in the field of renewable energy in the world. The portfolio of implemented investment projects of the company includes more than 2,400 MW of installed capacity to generate electricity from renewable energy sources.
