Pavel Chislitsky: We express gratitude to Uzbekistan for timely resolution of our security issues

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 26 and 27 March 2020, by decision of the Special Republican Commission to prepare a program of measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus in Uzbekistan, charter flights to Europe were organized. These flights returned to their homeland hundreds of European citizens who appeared on the territory of our country at the time of the closure of air traffic in Uzbekistan in connection with the accelerated spread of the coronavirus epidemic around the world.
The correspondent of Dunyo spoke with one of the passengers on such a flight, Pavel Chislitsky, director of the Polish construction company BUDMEX, which collaborates with Uzbek partners.
“We are immensely grateful to the authorities of Uzbekistan for the timely adoption of measures to export foreign citizens from Uzbekistan to Europe,” the Polish entrepreneur said. - Thanks to the organization of charters, more than 500 citizens of European countries returned to their homes, to their families.
The actions of the Uzbek authorities to record, inform and organize the return of foreign citizens to their states were carried out clearly and with high professionalism.
The pandemic places a heavy strain on the health system of all countries. Therefore, to close the borders and block everything that is possible is a vital necessity. And we see how methodically and consistently these measures are being implemented in Uzbekistan.
I believe that the country’s leadership has made the right decision to suspend air, rail and road communications with other states, and to close pre-school, secondary and higher educational institutions. Moreover, the most important step in countering the spread of the virus was the cancellation of all public events, including sports, cultural and family ones. Meetings in all government bodies and non-governmental organizations are held remotely.
It is important that the overwhelming majority of the population understands the need for such quarantine measures. Of course, the country’s economy is being damaged, but there is an understanding that people’s health is more important. Be that as it may, Uzbekistan has great human, economic, raw material and energy potential and will be able to recover in the shortest possible time.
We, Poles, Germans, French and other European citizens working in Uzbekistan, will not forget the attention and caring attitude of the Uzbek authorities to us.
Based on the experience of taking effective measures from other countries, for example, China, Uzbekistan went beyond promises and consultations and developed urgent actions - quick, concrete and effective. Providing the necessary medical equipment to medical facilities in all regions is another important measure that can quickly respond to cases of detection of diseases throughout the republic.
The unified approach in Uzbekistan in combating the epidemic is to temporarily distance the population. This is the only available way to stop the spread of a dangerous disease.
On behalf of foreign citizens working or temporarily residing in Uzbekistan, I express my utmost gratitude for the timely resolution of issues related to our security. We will always remember this in the course of our future work in your country. I wish the Uzbek people and all of us health.
