Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An external power supply project has been developed at the Shurtan gas chemical complex (GCC) and work is underway to implement it.
This ensures the stability of the important economic facilities of Uzbekistan - the Shurtan Mining and Chemical Combine and the GTL - a synthetic liquid fuel plant, which will be commissioned in 2020. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy, together with the press service of JSC Uzbekneftegaz.
The external power supply project of the Shurtan Mining and Chemical Combine and the GTL Plant were developed jointly with the design institute of Sredazenergosetproekt JSC.
The first stage of its implementation is the construction of the substation “GTL 220/35/10 sq.” with the installation of two transformers with a capacity of 125 MVA each for external power supply facilities.
The creation of an external power supply system for significant economic objects is a guarantee of their stable contribution to the country's GDP, and the energy stability of not only the production, but also the household sectors.
GTL is a plant for the production of synthetic liquid fuels from natural gas and will become one of the largest enterprises. With its commissioning, a unique high-tech production will appear in Uzbekistan, which will make it possible to move to a whole new level of deep hydrocarbon processing.
The technological process of the GTL plant is based on three main stages, which are necessary for the conversion of purified methane to GTL products, including diesel fuel, kerosene, naphtha, and liquefied gas.
The annual production capacity of the plant will be more than 1.5 million tons of high-quality synthetic liquid fuel that meets international standards.
