Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade has published a draft “Road Map” to intensify interaction with the World Trade Organization for 2020.

The explanatory note to the document notes that the goal of the project is to accelerate and increase the efficiency of the process of accession of the republic to the WTO by coordinating the activities of the involved ministries and departments.

According to the document, the development of a draft strategy for Uzbekistan’s entry into the WTO is planned to be completed in April of this year.

By the end of September, it is planned to prepare analytical information on the possible impact of the country’s accession to the WTO on such sectors as agriculture, industry, services, small and private businesses.

It is also planned to hold the fourth meeting of the working group on WTO accession and the participation of the Uzbek delegation in the 12th ministerial conference of the organization.

The process of accession of the republic to the WTO started in July 2019, when Uzbekistan submitted the updated memorandum on the foreign trade regime to the WTO to consider the application for joining the organization.
