Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - At the Uzatom Agency on 11 March, a meeting was held with the Ambassador of India to the Republic of Uzbekistan Santosh Jha, at which the development of cooperation in the field of the fuel and energy complex (FEC) of Uzbekistan, including in the field of the peaceful use of atomic energy, was discussed.
At the meeting, the reached agreements were discussed following the visit of the delegation of the Uzatom Agency to India in February this year. in order to study the experience of India in the construction of nuclear power plants and establish bilateral cooperation in the implementation of the state nuclear energy program.
During the meeting, the Indian side formally submitted a draft Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the Global Center for Nuclear Energy Cooperation (GCNEP, India) and the Uzatom Agency in the field of training in the field of nuclear energy.
GCNEP was founded in 2010 under the Department of Atomic Energy of the Government of India. There are 5 schools at the center, aimed at research in the field of nuclear energy and nuclear safety, the study of radiological safety, the characteristics of nuclear material and the use of radioisotopes and radiation technologies.
The Ambassador also informed that nuclear medicine and the application of nuclear technologies in the agricultural sector are developing in India, as well as the participation of Indian companies in energy projects, in particular in projects for the construction of renewable energy sources and the modernization of thermal power plants. At the same time, the Indian side said that there is the possibility of submitting grants for the introduction of solar panels for Uzbekistan.
The Uzbek side voiced an invitation to participate in investment projects and an invitation to share, put forward proposals of the chemical industry of Uzbekistan.
