Promising areas of cooperation in the manufacturing sector discussed in Brussels

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 28 February 2020, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan Dilyor Khakimov met in Brussels with vice-presidents of Solvay Alexis Browns and Arno Jacquet.

Founded in 1863, the Solvay company in its activities covers such areas as the chemical, automotive, aerospace, feed, food, electrical and household products, healthcare, construction, oil and gas, energy, environmental protection, mining and metallurgy industry and others.

During the meeting, the interlocutors praised the economic potential of Uzbekistan and expressed their willingness to work together to expand cooperation.

Considering specific areas of cooperation, Solvay management provided information on the best practices of the company in the field of energy, in particular, technologies that protect photovoltaic panels of solar power plants from ultraviolet rays and thereby ensure the highest possible capture of solar energy.

The parties also discussed prospects for cooperation in the field of agriculture. Solvay is also ready to act as a partner in the production of everyday products. In this regard, Alexis Browns emphasized that the company produces “smart textiles”, which is the world’s first biodegradable synthetic yarn, a line of biological solvents and other products.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on a joint study of the organization of the visit of the Solvay delegation to Tashkent to practically discuss the prospects for cooperation in the above areas and participation in the Energy Week of Uzbekistan at the end of May.
