Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 27 February 2020, at the Diplomatic Business Club of Riga, the Uzbek Embassy in Latvia held a briefing “Uzbekistan: 2020 - the year of great opportunities”, dedicated to the investment potential of our country.

The event was attended by representatives of governmental, business, academic, expert and analytical, public circles and the media of Latvia.

The Ambassador of Uzbekistan Kadambay Sultanov acquainted the participants with the key provisions of the Message of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev Oliy Majlis, focusing the audience on specific examples of the steady increase in the investment attractiveness of our country as a result of a significant improvement in the business climate in the country.

Detailed information is presented on the priority areas of state reform and ways to overcome the challenges facing the country, including ensuring the rule of law, reducing poverty, combating corruption and others.

The essence of the announcement by the head of state of 2020 in Uzbekistan “The Year of the Development of Science, Education and the Digital Economy” was brought to the briefing participants.

Those present with keen interest received data on the results of the development of Uzbekistan in 2019, especially noted a serious jump in the volumes of attracting direct investments, despite various global challenges that negatively affect the global economy. The growth of export volumes and the dynamic transformation of Uzbekistan into an attractive destination for tourists from all over the world were positively assessed.
