Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In January 2020, 8,600 enterprises and organizations were created in Uzbekistan, according to the State Statistics Committee.
Of these, 5.7 thousand units are limited liability companies, 1.4 thousand units are private enterprises, 1.2 thousand units are family enterprises, 0.1 thousand units are establishments and 0.2 thousand units are others.
As of 1 February 2020, the number of industrial enterprises and organizations amounted to 71.5 thousand units and the increase, compared to the same period last year, rose by 21.2%.
The main factor of growth in the number of industrial enterprises and organizations was the increase in production in manufacturing industry - by 21.2% (share of the total is 94.6%), mining and quarrying – 27.4% (share of their total number reached 3.3%), electricity, supply gas, steam and air conditioning –19.8% (share of the total is 0.5%) and water supply, sewage collection and disposal –5.2% (share of the total is 1.6%).
As of 1 February 2020, the number of enterprises and organizations in the construction sector amounted to 36.8 thousand units and, compared to the same period of last year, it increased by 22.1%. A major factor in the growth of construction enterprises and organizations was the increase in specialized works by 23.9% (share of the total is 30.5%), in construction of civil facilities and the number of enterprises and organizations increased by 12.3% (share of the total is 8.6%), the construction of buildings and structures by 22.7% (share of the total made up of 60.9%).
As of 1 February 2020, the number of enterprises and organizations in the trade sector amounted to 104,500 units and, compared to the same period last year, increased by 35.2%.
The main factor in the growth in the number of trading enterprises and organizations was retail trade, except for trade in cars and motorcycles, which increased by 34.4% (the share of their total amount is 62.0%), wholesale trade, except for trade in cars and motorcycles, increased by 36.1% (the share of their total number is 30.1%), wholesale and retail trade in cars and motorcycles and their repair, compared with the previous year, increased by 37.2% (the share of their total number is 7.9%).
As of 1 February 2020, the number of enterprises and organizations in the sphere of accommodation and food services amounted to 26.2 thousand units and increased by 127.6% compared to the same period last year. The main factor in the increase in the number of enterprises and organizations in the field of accommodation and catering services is the provision of food and beverages - by 25.5% (the share of their total number is 90.8%), accommodation services increased by 52.6% (the share of their total number reached 9.2%).
As of 1 February 2020, the number of enterprises and organizations in the field of information and communication amounted to 8.0 thousand units and, compared to the same period last year, increased by 13.5%.
The main factor of growth in the number of enterprises and organizations in the field of information and communication services are the production of film, videos and television programs, and recordings that, compared with the previous year, increased by 6.9% (share of the total is 6.2%), the share of services in the field of information, compared with the previous year, increased by 20.1% (share of the total is 14.8%), publishing services reached 13.0% (share of the total is 15.9%), services for programming and broadcasting – 95.1% (share of the total is 2.2%), services for computer programming increased by 18.5% (share of the total equal to 30.3%), communication services made up 9.1% (share of the total is 30.6%).
As of 1 February 2020, the number of family businesses registered in legal form amounted to 30.0 thousand units, an increase of 12.7 thousand units, or 1.7 times, compared to the same period of last year. The number of operating family businesses is 28.6 thousand units, which is 11.9 thousand units, or 1.7 times more than in the same period last year. The number of newly created family businesses in January 2020 was 1.2 thousand units, which is 34 units, or 2.8% more than in the same period of last year.
As of 1 February 2020, the number of registered limited liability companies reached 235.9 thousand units and, compared to the same period last year, the increase was 51.2 thousand units, or 27.7%. Operating enterprises account for 224.4 thousand units and, compared to the same period last year, their number reached 46.8 thousand units, or 26.4%. In January 2020, the number of newly created limited liability companies was 5.7 thousand units, which is 2.1 thousand units or 27.2% less than in the same period last year.
As of 1 February 2020, the number of enterprises with foreign capital participation amounted to 11.0 thousand units, of which 10.6 thousand units, or 96.1%, are active. This indicator, compared to the same period last year, increased by 3.0 thousand units, or 37.0%. In January 2020, 255 enterprises with foreign capital were created in our Republic.
Uzbekistan supports the creation of a full-fledged free trade zone within the CIS, based on principles that do not undermine the current trade regime. This, in turn, is an important factor in ensuring sustainable socio-economic development of the CIS. Taking into account the growing number of enterprises with foreign capital in the Republic of Uzbekistan, their main share (in comparison with enterprises with foreign capital) with the Russian Federation is 17.6%, Kazakhstan - 7.8%, Azerbaijan - 1.7%, Kyrgyzstan – 1.5% and Tajikistan - 1.5%.
The largest number of operating enterprises with foreign capital in Tashkent city reached 6 253 (59.0% of their total), 1 170 in Tashkent (11.0%) and 516 in Samarkand regions (4.9%). The smallest number of them is in Khorezm - 145 (1.4%), Kashkadarya - 197 (1.9%), Syrdarya - 158 (1.5%) regions and the Republic of Karakalpakstan - 160 (1.5%).
As of 1 February 2020, the share of registered enterprises and organizations by regions amounted to 20.8% in the city of Tashkent, 10.5% - Tashkent, 8.1% - Andijan, 8.0% - Samarkand, 8.5% - Fergana, 6.2% - Kashkadarya, 5.8% - Bukhara, 6.3% - Namangan, 4.3% - Jizzakh, 4.7% - Khorezm, 3.4% - Syrdarya, 4.7% - Surkhandarya, 3.3% in the Navoi regions and 4.5% - in the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
As of January 2020, the share of newly created enterprises and organizations by regions amounted to 22.8% in Tashkent city, 9.4% - Tashkent, 7.5% - Andijan, 9.6% - Samarkand, 6.0% - Fergana, 4.9% - Bukhara, 5.2% - Kashkadarya, 5.8% - Namangan, 3.3% - Jizzakh, 6.9% - Khorezm, 5.0% - Syrdarya, 5.1% - Surkhandarya , 4.8% in the Navoi regions and 3.7% in the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
As of 1 February 2020, the share of operating limited liability companies by regions was 26.7% in Tashkent, 10.7% - Tashkent, 8.6% - Andijan, 7.1% - Samarkand, 6.9% - Fergana, 6.5% - Bukhara, 6.3% - Namangan, 4.7% - Kashkadarya, 4.0% - Jizzakh, 3.6% - Khorezm, 3.5% - Syrdarya, 3.4% - Surkhandarya, 3.3% in the Navoi regions and 4.7% in the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
In January 2020, the share of newly created family-owned enterprises by regions was 6.0% in Tashkent city, 8.4% - Tashkent, 10.4% - Andijan, 21.2% - Samarkand, 3.5% - Bukhara, 1.3% - Namangan, 4.2% - Kashkadarya, 1.4% - Jizzakh, 17.6% - Khorezm, 0.6% - Syrdarya, 9.5% - Surkhandarya, 9.7% - Navoi regions and 2.7% - the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
