Prospects of cooperation in the trade, economic and investment spheres were discussed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 11 February 2020, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the Benelux countries, Dilyor Khakimov, met with the head of the international cooperation department of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) of Luxembourg, Stephen Kener.
During the meeting, the Luxembourg side was sent an invitation letter to the Director General of the CCI of Luxembourg, Carlo Telen, at the 1st Tashkent International Investment Forum on March 5-6, 2020.
It was emphasized that Uzbekistan is taking large-scale measures to create a favorable investment climate, including through liberalization of currency regulation, reduction and simplification of licensing and licensing procedures, reduction of tax rates and customs duties, and creation of the necessary infrastructure in the regions.
Stephen Kener reported on the growing interest of Luxembourg companies in the search for possible projects for implementation in Uzbekistan, in particular, given the large changes in the republic. In order to further intensify bilateral interaction between economic entities, it is planned to organize a trade mission to Uzbekistan in late September - early October with the participation of representatives of Luxembourg companies.
At the same time, it was noted that the main goal is to promote investment cooperation, expand the range of trade, not limited to selling Luxembourgish goods to Uzbekistan, as well as taking measures to increase tourist exchange. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Luxembourg is ready for close cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, including with a view to implementing specific and result-oriented measures aimed at enhancing interaction between economic entities of the countries and members of the chambers.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on working out the issue of establishing mutually beneficial cooperation between the CCI of Uzbekistan and Luxembourg, in particular by signing the corresponding Memorandum of Understanding within the framework of the upcoming visit.
