Certificate of inscribing Khorezm dance Lazgi on UNESCO’s Representative List to be given to Khorezm regional khokimiyat
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Certificate of inscribing the Khorezm dance Lazgi on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, signed by Director-General of UNESCO Audrey Azoulay, will be given to the khokimiyat of Khorezm region.
As previously reported, UNESCO included Khorezm dance Lazgi in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity as an element of Uzbekistan’s cultural heritage.
The decision was taken on December 12 in Bogota (Colombia) during the 14th session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of UNESCO. According to the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism Development, Aziz Abdukhakimov, the National Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan for UNESCO is currently working on including Bakhshi art and ethnic sports to the specified list.
