Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ministry of Transport, Unitary Enterprise “Toshkent Metro” together with UZCARD, Aloqabank, as well as Avtomatlashtirilgan transport to'lov tizimi operatori LLC (ATTO) are introducing a new type of payment for travel in public transport - a single payment card for transport.
Currently, an automated system allowing cashless tolls is also being introduced in the Tashkent Metro. The new system will be introduced in stages.
Currently, stationary validators are already installed at all stations (one automated checkpoint at each entrance to the station). They are temporarily installed on existing turnstiles and in the near future at the entrance to all stations will be installed a new type of turnstiles with readers for the new system. Also, on a temporary basis, all operators at the underground ticket offices are equipped with portable validators issuing a payment receipt, with which you can also make a trip.
There are two types of unified transport card:
public transport card;
preferential transport card (for pensioners, disabled people, students, participants of the Second World War and other military personnel).
The cost of a single transport card is 11 thousand soums and is valid for two years. A public card can be purchased at points of sale of travel cards, at ticket offices of the subway, as well as at branches of Aloqabank Bank and the mobile operator UCELL. A preferential card can be purchased at district centers of public services. You can replenish your card account through such applications as “MyUzCard”, “Payme”, “Click” and “Paynet”.
