Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 14 January, a meeting in the form of a videoconference was held at the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade to discuss issues of international investment, trade and economic cooperation, as well as new mechanisms for working with foreign investors and potential trading partners.

The meeting was led by the Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade S. Umurzakov with the participation of advisers on trade and economic issues at the diplomatic missions of Uzbekistan abroad and heads of structural units of the central apparatus of the Ministry.

During the meeting, the course of implementation of agreements and joint initiatives with foreign partners from 18 countries, including from the USA, Germany, Belgium, France, Singapore, South Korea, Malaysia, was examined.

It was emphasized that the function of representatives of the Ministry abroad is not only to monitor ongoing projects and provide support in their implementation, but also to search for opportunities to comprehensively expand economic cooperation with foreign partners with a priority to increase investment in Uzbekistan and increase the export supply of domestic products that are in demand on foreign markets .

In this regard, a new system of working with investors and exporters in conjunction with line ministries and local authorities based on the principles of equal involvement and joint responsibility was brought to the attention of advisers.

Following the meeting, responsible managers and employees were given targeted instructions and instructions for the implementation of measures aimed at the comprehensive activation of investment and trade cooperation with foreign countries and the implementation of the foreign economic policy of the Republic.
