Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As previously reported, in early January, during a performance at the World Christmas Circus show in Amsterdam (Netherlands), the duet of acrobats from Uzbekistan “Sky Angels” Kristina Vorobyova and Rustem Osmanov fell from a 10-meter height.
The artists were promptly delivered to one of the Netherlands medical centers - Academic Medical Center.
Examinations showed that one of the members of the duet - Rustem Osmanov escaped with relatively minor injuries - he was diagnosed with concussion, minor injuries and one tooth was knocked out. However, his wife, Kristina Vorobyeva, suffered serious injuries and fractures, as a result of which she had to undergo two complex surgeries on her spine.
To the honor of the Dutch doctors, they did everything possible to not only save the life of a world circus star, but also to provide maximum conditions for her return to the arena - to fans of the duo from Uzbekistan, who, with their grace, won the hearts of millions of circus lovers all over the world.
According to Dunyo news agency, at present, Kristina remains at the Academic Medical Center under the supervision of Dutch doctors, her husband, as well as numerous fans, including those from Uzbekistan, who simply flunked the “heavenly angel” ward with flowers, gifts and postcards with wishes for a speedy recovery.
Information about the tragedy scattered across the global information space very quickly. The artists themselves and their relatives in Uzbekistan from all over the world began to receive words of sympathy and support. World art stars, sports and political figures expressed their readiness to provide all necessary assistance.
It is worth noting that on the day the information about the tragedy with Uzbek artists appeared, the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Benelux countries also actively connected to the provision of necessary assistance.
In particular, close cooperation was initiated with the authorities and police in the Netherlands. In order to provide the necessary consular and legal support, the consular officer of the diplomatic mission quickly went to Amsterdam, where he met with the victims, as well as with their employers and the insurance company.
In addition, contacts were established with the relatives of the victims in order to assist, if necessary, in urgent preparation of exit documents for them to come to the Netherlands.
The embassy also takes advantage of the opportunities of compatriots living in the Netherlands who do not leave artists unattended.
The hospital where Kristina Vorobyeva is undergoing treatment was visited by the Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Benelux countries, Dilyor Khakimov.
The meeting with the "heavenly angel" initially implied little positive. However, the emotional mood, optimism and fortitude of Kristina pleasantly surprised. Despite the difficulties, the girl is determined to continue doing what she loves.
The conversation that ensued with Kristina lasted more than an hour. She talked about her career, family, wife.
Over the years of a brilliant career, “Heavenly Angels” have achieved everything that a representative of circus art can only dream of. They work with the world’s leading shows, which take their turn to sign a contract with them. Thanks to them, the flag of Uzbekistan flutters in the main arenas of the world, where the crown number is the flight of the Uzbek duo, which every spectator in the audience watches with bated breath.
Despite the tragedy, from which, unfortunately, no one is safe, Kristina remains fully determined to return to the arena. She understands that there is a long period of treatment and recovery. But next to her is her faithful companion - her husband, relatives, friends, colleagues, and all ordinary circus lovers, whose applause and admiration will give strength to the beautiful duet - “Heavenly Angels” for a long time to come.
