The progress of ongoing investment and trade and economic cooperation with a number of countries disucssed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 4 January, a workshop was held at the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade under the leadership of the Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov to discuss the development of joint investment agreements and trade contracts with Azerbaijani companies, Italy, China, Pakistan, Russia, Belgium, Czech Republic, Hungary, Great Britain, South Korea, the United Arab Emirates and Turkey, which was attended by the heads of ministries, departments, joint-stock companies, associations holding companies, heads of regional departments of the Ministry, as well as heads of diplomatic missions of the Republic of Uzbekistan in these countries.

The focus was on the current investment and trade and economic cooperation with the above countries, as well as prospects for embracing promising new areas of cooperation in order to reach specific agreements and agreements.

In this direction, the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade, together with the state institutions involved, is already carrying out consistent systematic work, but at the moment there are issues on many of the initiatives being worked out that are subject to further detailed discussion with foreign counterparties. The task was set to formulate specific programs for working with companies from each country and to develop a schedule of visits of working groups consisting of heads of ministries and departments for conducting targeted negotiations.

The meeting examined constructive proposals and ideas for expanding the scope of cooperation in promising areas, including agriculture, textile, pharmaceutical industries, agricultural engineering, education, the IT industry, infrastructure construction, the production of building materials, the oil and gas industry, the chemical and petrochemical industry.

The leadership of the Ministry noted the importance of building sustainable and effective mechanisms for interaction with foreign companies, which will increase the degree of confidence of foreign investors and trading partners and will create the basis for long-term cooperation. Organizational issues related to the holding of bilateral business forums, meetings of intergovernmental commissions on trade and economic cooperation, and joint diversified exhibition events were also discussed.

Following the meeting, responsible managers and employees were given instructions to intensify the negotiation processes with partners from the above countries to develop new mutually beneficial proposals for investment and trade and economic cooperation.
